myStampBOX: All Play

Today the design team at myStampBOX is sharing creations made using inspiration from Nathalie Kalbach's recent Creative Jump Start Summit.

For my card, I inked watercolor paper with Weathered Wood Distress Ink using the Ranger Ink Blending Tool then sprayed with Tattered Angels Tiger Lily Glimmer Mist. I then misted the card with water to get some of the colors to move around and form some puddles and different color intensities. Using a Crafters Workshop template in the upper left corner, I spread on some Apple Barrel Nutmeg Brown Acrylic Paint using a makeup sponge. I stamped some random coffee rings from the Enjoy Your Latte! set in Vintage Photo Distress Ink and flower borders from Decorative Strips set in Weathered Wood Distress Ink. I finished off the card by inking the edges with Weathered Wood Distress Ink and added a sentiment from the Lines of Life - Small Box set.

myStampBOX: Happy Birthday

I decided to pull out some water and my Derwent Intense Pencils for this card. I used watercolor paper onto which I brushed some water. I then colored on the paper with the yellow pencil, blended it with a paint brush and water until I got the desired color, and continued on with the same technique with orange and red pencils. I stamped "Happy Birthday" from the myStampBOX Color Me - Sentiments set in the middle of each color. I carefully cut out the sentiment and matted it on black cardstock. I then colored in the sentiment with the same pencils using just a small amount of water on a paint brush to blend the colors.

Le's Polka...Dot

The Twinery blog has started having challenges on their blog. The first challenge is to use polka dots with their twine.

For my card, I dry embossed the white cardstock, stamped some polka dots on the circles before stamping the flowers, and created a center for the flowers by forming the twine into a circle on a foam dot.

All Aboard

Now that Valentine's Day is over, I am moving on and scrapping some vacation layouts.  While new products are starting to arrive from the winter Craft and Hobby Association show, there are plenty of bargains to be had in the Scrapbook Express store. The Little Yellow Bicycle Escape Collection is one of the collections that is currently on sale (at a 40% savings). The papers and embellishments were perfect for my layout about boarding a cruise ship to Alaska this past fall. I used Little Yellow Bicycle's February Sketch as inspiration for my layout.

Camera Craze Challenge

The current challenge on Moxie Fab World is camera craze. I thought the little camera in myStampBOX's Snapshot set would be perfect for this challenge. I stamped the camera at an angle in Dusty Concord and Pumice Stone Distress Ink, then stamped the polaroid frame in Pumice Stone Distress Ink and cut it out. I mounted the frame on foam adhesive. See that purple mesh sticking out under the frame? That's the bag my brussel sprouts came in last week. My friend, Maryfrances Fabbri, posted a layout on her blog using a mesh bag and now I am hooked. Don't be surprised if you see me at different grocery stores scoping out the vegetables sold in different color mesh bags to add to my collection. The sentiment is stamped with myStampBOX's Lines of Life - Small Box.

myStampBOX: Happy Valentine Birthday

My mom's birthday is on Valentine's Day, so I combined a valentine and birthday card for her using myStampBOX's Lovely Houses and Lines of Life - Small Box sets. I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp: Something Messy Challenge.

I started by cutting a template out of scrap cardstock of different sized hearts using my Cricut Expression and Gypsy Handheld Design Studio. I used some painter's tape to hold down a piece of white cardstock and the template.
I used a makeup sponge and some chalk ink to apply ink to the hearts.

I removed the template and placed the hearts that were cut out of the template over the inked hearts. I then sprayed a little bit of red Clearsnap Smooch Spritz on the cardstock.
To add some contrast and color, I stamped with black ink using the vertical heart stamp from the Lovely Houses set. I also added a birthday sentiment using the Lines of Life - Small Box set to the largest pink heart.
Happy Birthday Mom!

myStampBOX: Happy Birthday

I have another card to share with you today inspired by Nathalie Kalbach's Creative Jump Start Summit.

I started with a piece of watercolor paper and a large Heidi Swapp mask (the large circles). I inked over the mask with chalk ink. I then laid The Crafter's Workshop Dots All Around template on the paper and sprayed it with pink and grey mist.  I had planned to stamp the flower/circle border from the myStampBOX Decorative Strips set onto the paper when it fell out of my hands and stamped really lightly (around the middle of the card). I decided I rather liked the random look so stamped again at various places with different amounts of ink on the stamp. I used the grey mist to "ink" around the edges of my card. The sentiment on the banner is made with myStampBOX Lines of Life - Small Box set.
