Sketch of the Week

It is my week to be featured as the sketch designer at Cord Scrapbook Studio. I used this sketch from Becky Fleck's Page Maps.
I then created this card using the same sketch with scraps from my layout.

Basic Grey Challenges

Basic Grey had a bunch of challenges on their blog for National Scrapbook Day. I dug deep in my stash of Basic Grey and here's what I was able to accomplish. Create a layout that has machine or hand stitching. I used Oliver pattern and lace papers, Sultry button, and Olivia alphabet stickers.
Create a layout that includes multiple layers.. I used Boxer pattern paper and alphabet stickers, Motifica paper (background...how's that for digging deep in the stash), Oliver Ribbon Doilies, Oliver and Boxer buttons, Infuse pattern paper.
Use Basic Grey & Sizzix on your project. I used Sweet Threads pattern paper, Sizzix Tattered Flowers die, and Sophie alphabet stickers (another oldie but goodie). This layout also contains a little American Crafts, Prima, Crate and some lace. It qualifies for The Paper Variety's challenge to use a handmade flower on your project. I used this sketch from Creative Scrappers.

Scrapbook & Cards Today NSD Challenges

I had time to complete two of the challenges at Scrapbook & Cards Today for their National Scrapbook Day celebration. Davinie's challenge was to use something vintage, or a piece of memorabilia on your layout. I made a pocket layout with some of my memorabilia from our Amalfi trip.
Sherri's challenge was to make a custom pin embellishment. I wrapped some paper strips around decorative pins to make little flags and tucked them under the button center on a flower.

Echo Park Challenge #1

was to create a card in two hours. Their blog was acting up so I didn't see the challenge until it might be too late, but I went ahead and made a card anyway. I used the scraps of my scraps from This & That Collection. This might be the simplest, quickest card I've ever made.
