Back from Creative Escape

I'm back from Creative Escape and had a great time. I don't have time for a full review, but I really enjoyed it. There were some things that I think could be done better, but you're never going to make 600 people happy. The projects were great, the teachers and assistants so friendly and helpful. Some of the classes were a bit simple, but sometimes it's nice to have a simple easy class. Here are a few of some of the projects.

This one was my absolute favorites taught by Tracey Niehaus who designs for K&Co. Can you tell this is a 8-1/2 x 11 plastic file folder. We covered chipboard and inserted them in the folder for the covers, made some pockets and attached them to the plastic folder with binding tape and brads. There are tons of stuff in the kit to decorate the pockets, we just ran out of time.

A close runner up for favorite project was this canvas taught by Heidi Swapp. We used Ranger distress inks and HS masks. We also distressed the chipboard letters and some clothespins that will go on the top to hold photos. There is an oval mirror in the kit that hangs from the bottom of the top canvas. We got lots of rubons to use to put a quote on the mirror.

Cute BE purse project. This was pretty simple and very easy to make. All the pieces of cardstock were precut which made it so quick. We also received the chipboard mini album that fits inside the purse and made some simple pages for the album. Bazzill is coming out with some stitching templates. We received one that has two flowers (used one flower on the front) and also a border one that we used for the stitches on the strips on the purse.

Now, to top it off, at the closing ceremonies on Saturday night I won a Heidi Swapp original altered mirror. Way cool.

Creative Escape

Cindy and I leave tomorrow morning for Phoenix to attend the Heidi Swapp/Bazzill Creative Escape event. It should be lots of fun. I made this fun travel journal to write about our classes and trip.

I was very excited to be asked to be the guest designer for the August/September card kit at 2 Jills. This kit is gorgeous and so easy to work with. There's everything you need to make a lot of cards. I made all the cards below and still have some of the kit left. The Card Kit will be available here from August 30, at a cost of $18.99.

Here's the gorgeous kit:

I've Finally Done It

I'm here in blog land. You might find ramblings about scrapbooking, my kittens or travels. We'll see where this goes.

To start off the blog, here are a couple of cards I made recently.
