Seattle

This week's Magazine Mondays Challenge at Paper Crafter's Corner is to draw inspiration from this photo.

I was originally going to use the colors, but ended up using the grid design and rotated it for my layout.

I was inspired by the colors and round shapes for my card. I heat embossed snowflakes from the Let It Snow set on  white cardstock. I rubbed three different colors of Ranger Distress Ink onto my craft mat and sprayed the ink with water. I then laid the snowflake paper onto the ink on my craft mat and smashed it down to get ink on the entire surface. After it dried a little, I used a baby wipe to remove any excess ink from the embossed images. After matting on some cardstock, I decided to add some sequins for a little extra pizazz.

Spring Flowers: myStampBOX

I am ready for the April showers to bring May flowers and created this card with that thought in mind.

I stamped two different flowers from the Abundant Blossoms set onto pattern paper and then cut the flowers out of the paper. I handstitched some stems with embroidery thread, then layered the flowers at the tops of the stems, adhering the small flower with foam adhesive for a little dimension. I finished off the card with some bling in the center of the flowers, a strip of seam binding and a sentiment from the Lines of Life - Small Box set.

Scrapbook {Express}ions Card Sketch

I used this month's card sketch at Scrapbook {Express}ions to create a card using the Little Yellow Bicycle Just Because Collection. I rotated the sketch to the right so my banners would hang from the top (I wanted to use the "Love You More" canvas sticker as my sentiment).

Alaska Cruise Layouts

I thought I would share some more layouts I made last month for challenges at the Boston Scrap Fanatics. These were all created with photos from our girls' cruise to Alaska last fall.

Operation Write Home and Clearsnap

Operation Write Home is having a blog hop with lots of manufacturers and talented scrappers. I created this card for the related challenge on the Clearsnap blog to create a masculine card. I clear embossed some stamps with a Hero Arts leaf stamp, then sprayed over them with Glimmer Mist. The sentiment on the card is from myStampBOX.

I am also entering this card in Simon Says Stamp's Happy Birthday Challenge

Scrapbook {Express}ions Sketch Challenge

It's time for new sketches for April's sketch challenge on the Scrapbook {Express}ions blog. You have the entire month to upload one creation for each of the sketches below for up to three entries. One lucky person will be drawn from the entries to win a $25 gift certificate to the Scrapbook Express store. In order to have a monthly winner, there will need to be at least ten entries. The winner will be announced on the first of each month when the new challenge is issued. April’s sketches are brought to you compliments of Becky Fleck and PageMap.
Card Sketch: You can never go wrong with banners.

Single Page Sketch: I liked the doilies in this sketch and easy placement for photos.

Double Page Sketch: Room for plenty of photos here.

I created a layout using the single page sketch. I just got the Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Floral Doilies and the middle sized die was perfect for this sketch and layout. I changed up the location of the doilies and I may have gotten a little carried away with the embellishment cluster.

Moxie Fab Chevron Challenge with myStampBox

Moxie Fab World is hosting challenges for Card Creations Week. I created this card is for the chevron challenge. I used the Snapshot set from myStamp Box to stamp the cameras and polaroid frame, then adhered them to a piece of twisted washi tape.

I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes Challenge. You have to love a challenge that allows you to use your creativity to do whatever you want.

Moxie Fab Washi Card Challenge with myStampBOX

Moxie Fab World is hosting challenges for Card Creations Week. I created this card for the washi tape challenge. I adhered washi tape strips cut into pennants on the top of the cardstock, stamped the sentiment with myStamp Box's Color Me - Sentiments set and colored in the sentiment with a red Inktense pencil, then used my new Lifestyle Crafts chevron embossing folder to emboss the entire card. I then adhered it to a black card base.
