Curry Lamb Burgers with Spinach Raita

While at the farmer's market last month, I purchased some ground lamb and fresh spinach. These ingredients inspired the creation of these burgers.

Curry Lamb Burgers with Spinach Raita

Burgers

1 lb. ground lamb
¼ cup sliced green onions (plus extra for serving)
1 Tbl. Curry powder
½ tsp. cayenne (optional)
1 tsp. cumin
½ tsp. each salt and pepper
Spinach Raita
½ cup plain greek yogurt
2 cloves garlic
2 oz. feta cheese
½ cup chopped spinach
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. cumin
1 tsp. honey
2 large Naan Bread, cut in half

Mix together all ingredients for Spinach Raita. This is better if you prepare it a couple hours before serving and store in the refrigerator.

Add all burger ingredients to a bowl and mix together, taking care not to overwork the mixture. Form into four burger patties. Cook 3-4 minutes on each side until cooked through.

Place burger on top of Naan bread and top with Spinach Raita and sliced green onions.

Nautical Decor

Sharing a couple of DIY/Pinterest inspired projects I have made recently for the guest room at our cottage.

I found this frame at the thrift store and painted it then glued sissel around the edges with a hot glue gun. I cut the words from vinyl using my Silhouette Cameo and adhered them to the inside of the glass. The background is pattern paper and I cut the nautical rectangles from pattern paper also. I found the starfish on the beach at low tide and brought it home to clean and dry.

I saw something like this at a gift store and thought I could recreate it. The letters and base board are from Michael's. I painted and distressed them, then glued a piece of sissel around the edge of the base board. The ship's wheel is cut with the Silhouette Cameo and the same pattern paper I used in the frame.

I am sharing these projects on Silhouette School Link It Up Party

myStampBOX All Play: Anything But A Card

This month's design team all play at myStampBOX blog is to create anything but a card.

I decided to add some stamp embellished cards to a Project Life style layout. The first card is a piece of 4x6 white cardstock that I covered with strips of washi tape. I then stamped the sentiment from the
Road Trip Set and the cars from the Passport to Adventure Set in black archival ink.
The second set of cards are made from 3x4 pieces of white cardstock. I sprayed the cards with mist before stamping in black and turquoise ink with stamps from the Road Trip and Passport to Adventure Sets. I also added some strips of washi tape to coordinate with the large card.
Here is my finished layout using the cards in the Project Life style page protector.

Scrapbook {Express}ions: Love This Day Layout

I created this layout for Scrapbook Express using Bo Bunny Modern Miss Collection. While the title of this collection might make you think it would be a line for females, it certainly matched perfectly with the colors in this photo of my husband on the beach. Don't limit yourself by themes or names when choosing collections with which to scrap.

While I love to cut vinyl with my Silhouette Cameo, I also like to use it to cut titles for my layouts. On this layout I cut "this day" (Brannbol Fet font) and the arrows (Silhouette Online store design id #38944) from pattern papers in the Bo Bunny Modern Miss Collection.
